Short piece about entering an obsessive/dissociative loop and printing iterations of the same image over and over and over and—

Made in a little under four hours for the ECTOCOMP 2026 La Petite Mort category.

I dunno about this one! I wrote a bunch of short stuff this month and this is the one I ended up liking the most. Given four hours, I dredged out the usual stuff: dissociative states, monomania, printmaking and spooky mountains.

This is also inspired by Giorgio De Chirico's earliest paintings of empty city squares. I wanted to get the same sense of eeriness and incomprehensible menace he somehow worked into them.
